Thanks for the comment Eddie. My current setup is: Speedtech 2.5” X-Pipe (no muffler) with Cats and 3" Dual Tips. This is considered "Sound Level 4" on the Speedtech website.

@@911Boosted Thanks for the info Jack. I’m really stuck between the 2.5 and the 3.0. Listening to your video I would’ve bet it was the 3.0. Maybe because it’s in a garage it’s giving it a little more boom. This isn’t easy Lol If I could only hear one in person UGH. Are your dual tips from SpeedTech? Thanks for your time

@@eddie1426 Eddie have you seen my other video? Here is the link below. The first exhaust I did was Speedtech 3" Catless. The loudest one they make. It sounds the BEST by far, but, also the loudest and the most annoying drone at cruising speeds. After having that for a while, I swapped in the just the cats on the 3" X-Pipe. That is a really great sounding system if you want LOTs of volume and lots of turbo spool sounds. It still has drone, but not as bad as Catless.... My current system, the 2.5" X-pipe with Cats, is probably the best compromise of all systems for great sound and civility. I still find myself missing the more incredible screaming GT3-style sound of the 3" x-pipe, but the very reduced, very minimal droning at cruising speed makes the 2.5" one of the best. @@911Boosted Thanks pal. I have seen this video. Pretty wild !! I'm going with the 3.0 with cats to start. I don't come close to daily driving my car and will at most take and hour + drive every once in a blue moon. If it's really is too much I'll just drop down to the 2.5 also with cats. It's a great option that John offers at SpeedTech. I've read your other comments on your past exhaust videos and you've been a BIG help. Going blind into this type of purchase can be a big pain if you make a mistake. You're one of the good guys my friend. Thank you again and I'll keep you posted.

Ryan, I am happy to hear you will go with Speedtech, it's like getting the Turbo and falling in love all over again, when you hear the proper growl, and turbo spooling up. I heard another 997 Turbo with what I think was a Tubi Exhaust, and it sort of reminded me of the sound of a car when a catalytic converter thief cuts the cat out (just loud, and deep, but not great sounding).

Thank you for the comment. Yes, I did a ton of research before buying, like most of us do. Watched pretty much every UA-cam clip in existence, haha. I did consider Valvetronic, but they didn't sound as good in my opinion. You really need the exhaust to travel through the X-Pipe section on the way out to achieve the greatest sound. On most valved exhausts, when valves are open, the exhaust is going straight out. I have a Softronic Tune on my car which is claimed to be about 100HP increase over stock and it clears the check engine light as well.

Hi Bruce. Thanks for the comments! I have actually had 3 different levels of the Speedtech Exhaust so far... Here's my journey: I started with the 3" Catless X-pipe (which you saw in my other vid). That setup is the loudest and the best sounding exhaust for the Turbo hands down. I have never heard anything that even comes close. One time I got on the freeway with my friend behind me, and launched through first and second gear to redline and he said it sounded like a fighter jet. BUT, the beauty comes at a price; Loud drone while cruising at highway speed and lots of gas smell... So after a while I called John at Speedtech and ordered just the HJS 200 cell cats to swap into my 3" X-Pipe. The cats drastically reduced the smell, and reduced some drone, while keeping maybe 90% or more of the original great screaming sound at wide open throttle. However, I do occasional 2+ hour highway drives, and even with the cats, that drone at about 75mph tends to get really annoying (to me). So, finally after about a year, I called Speedtech again and John recommended my current and final setup which is the 2.5" X-Pipe + Cats. The drone is significantly reduced to comfortable low hum, it is very tolerable, and I can talk to my fiancé normally and make phone calls without yelling. But, I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too, because although it sounds VERY good under throttle, it is not as loud and the tone is not as exotic anymore. This system, in my opinion, is the BEST you can get for the money if you want a good all-rounder; 10X better than stock, deep growl at idle, very comfortable cruising, Turbo Whistle at all times, and good, loud motorsport sound under hard acceleration. IF you think you can tolerate slightly more volume and slightly more drone, I would strongly recommend the 3" X-Pipe with Cats, the tone is THAT much better with 3"... It is the closest thing I have heard to a real Porsche race car, and a straight pipe GT3. Hope this helps you out.

@@911Boosted Thank you so much for the detailed reply. Sounds like you and I are on the same page. I previously had a Vette with catless x-pipe and my wife wouldn't even ride with me. I'd love the 3" setup but don't want to lose the great drivability of the Turbo. So comfortable on the highway so don't want to use that. If this was for the track, then that would be a different story. It sounds like your setup is the best compromise. Thanks again for taking the time to reply. We just need some move Turbo videos so I can hear more!!

@@brucebridges7562 I think you'll be really happy with the 2.5" then. It will change your relationship with the car. I'm hoping to make a new video very soon from the outside and inside with drive-by sounds recorded on a high quality microphone setup.
